Ocean Protection Program
We support and mobilize California Native Nations and Indigenous Peoples around ocean protections by raising awareness about threats and pollutants to ocean waters while prioritizing the reconnection of coastal indigenous peoples with their ancestral waters and Tribally led ocean conservation work.
At least 40 of the 150+ Native American Nations in California maintain active ties to ancestral territories along the coast. This program centers and uplift the voices of these communities in conversations around offshore drilling and extractive industries and other activities damaging to our coastal lands and waters:
Supports existing and expanded tribal member connection with coastal lands and waters by working with tribal communities throughout Southern California.

Offshore Winds: We are working with Tribes throughout the Pacific Northwest on raising the concerns of Native Nations and the impacts of offshore wind.
Hosted multiple gatherings of Coastal Native Nations including several Coastal Tribal Ocean Summits in California.
Tribal engagement training for enforcement agencies.
